link Me, Italicized: Learning Curve

lexi-trek:

Flying just behind the learning curve
That is what this morning’s plight
Begins to feel like after the night recedes
Into this mellow a.m. twilight

I’ve got to sprint to survive
But my souls are demanding of me
To take this twenty-four in stride
To take a punch and conquer

Me, Italicized: Learning Curve

And then I catch up with midnight,
Losing everything except the fight,
I will volunteer this chunk of flesh,
Will you have me, even if only next,

This is purely for pacing’s sake,
To caress the distance and get familiar with their forms,
Saving away your artifacts, hoping for flashes of cake,
Here you feed senses, here fingers whip up charms

Mind, eyes: Can we see more? Is this new? Is this the first of many?

Ears: Is there a show afterwards? Are we invited?

Nose: Is she buttered, lotioned, oiled, scented, alone?

Tongue and hands: Is she wet anywhere? Is this breakfast?
