Oh Glistening Present

I stare longingly now,

Across the room at her,

Her angry will not abate,

You will find not a row,

No seeds are to be planted here,

You sinned the second time,

The first might have been a mistake,

But you’ve proven more for this habit to care,

Thought not to moderate,

You sip and simmer,

To smile and chatter,

Now you have sealed your fate,

Fear not if you truly erred,

For now you can only be better than before,

And with much luck,

Again to receive her love deferred.
