Grand Car Cell

Reasons for staying are 7 years old most days,
The rest are just the sufferings of a quiet genius,
Figuring that, like all else, in a rushing haze,
A passing will grab this all and give back change,

For it will love every feeling and tip to the demise,
Masterfully seasoned with majestic dons,
Creating a sense that everything here belongs thrice,
A slight of the hand literally burnt and bounded,

There were drifting winds and devastating disappointment,
Evident in the ailing gaze and chosen strife,
Willing the soul into new shapes for sale or rent,
A smoked cigar, ashes then taken away from the boardwalk,

Names for this one are many and very far between,
Seen just for enough moments to brand and imprint,
Choosing only then to rip violently away from every scene,
A lingering goodbye and many times an unwet dream,

If you believe the hype you, I mean if hype is believed,
Then you’d be convinced the goal all along was only to deceive,
That would then mean that there were plotting here on this team,
Scheming for a gain, playing a piper, tuning a fork,
Leaving behind babies, necks longer than storks,
There is no you and I here though,
There is only memories and afterthoughts,
A coming together of sorts to make sense of the pleased,

Winning here comes and goes like gambler’s luck,
The ones that stay in constant denial of their true nature,
Obeying some unheard call of a genie profoundly stuck,
A never ending list of wishes that fuel only more requests,

Every now and again, like asteroids loosened from drifting belts,
Starry glows will shine and brighten others’ dark skies and whims,
Defying agreements made and clearing rotten shelves,
A hand dealt, cards exchanged so plays can be had elsewhere,

Nothing about any of this seems even remotely planned,
Get closer and cool breeze will tease, and lull, and cast spells,
Copying so well all that can be found are patterns spread and tanned,
A trick as old as time itself, finds a place to dwell in the next place it shells,

And so trap doors and shelters are built in place,
To keep the wondering fed and curiousity lit and warm,
Knowing well that giving away is both choosen and forced,
A venturing out for there is more than five can hold,
