Life is a test, everyday a lesson, love is the answer.
When the Question Isn’t Clear
Some tests announce themselves.
A final exam.
A job interview.
A diagnosis.
A goodbye.
But most of life’s tests arrive quietly.
They show up as inconveniences.
As misunderstandings.
As disappointments that test patience.
As opportunities that test courage.
If life is a test, it is not the kind you prepare for once.
It is daily.
Everyday a Lesson
There was a season in my life when everything felt like resistance. Plans didn’t unfold the way I imagined. People didn’t respond the way I hoped. Effort didn’t always equal outcome.
At first, I asked, Why is this happening to me?
Later, I began asking, What is this teaching me?
That shift changed everything.
Every delay taught patience.
Every disagreement taught communication.
Every failure taught humility.
Some lessons are gentle.
Others arrive like storms.
But all of them shape us, if we are willing to learn.
As the philosopher Søren Kierkegaard once wrote, “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.”
Often, we don’t recognize the lesson until long after the test has passed.
Love Is the Answer
Love?
Not romantic love alone — though that is powerful.
I mean:
- Love as patience when frustration rises.
- Love as forgiveness when pride wants revenge.
- Love as compassion when judgment feels easier.
- Love as self-respect when doubt whispers loudly.
There have been moments when anger felt justified. When withdrawing felt safer. When silence felt powerful.
Yet almost every time I chose love instead, even imperfectly, the outcome was lighter.
Love doesn’t always change the situation.
But it changes the way we carry it.
As Martin Luther King Jr. said,
“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”
Love transforms tension into understanding.
Mistakes into growth.
Distance into connection.
It may not always be the easiest response.
But it is almost always the strongest one.
The Real Test
Perhaps the test is not about success or status.
Perhaps the real question each day is simple:
Will you react or will you respond with love?
Will you close or will you stay open?
Will you choose ego or empathy?
Everyday life gives us dozens of opportunities to answer.
A Reflection for You
If life is a test, what lesson has today offered you?
Where has love been the harder choice but the better one?
And how might your relationships, work, or inner dialogue change if you approached tomorrow as both student and teacher?
I’d love to hear your interpretation.
What does “love is the answer” mean in your life right now?
