A Poem for My….

I though I’d lost you there for a bit,
even though we had only just begun
Though you’re really not from ‘round here
I hope you’d stay a while longer
Lost in some gay love unfound here in paradise,
for I was never gay or in love,
and you were gravely unknown

There it was, right there in your eyes,
as they scrolled the first of my pages
For some time you wondered,
maybe you just have listless mirrors
the lack of energy made me think

A bit more can you spare
a moment we can share
even though I was told not to swear
It is my fairest belief
You’ll like it here
Welcome friend

Brush the dust and dirt from your person
Hang your outer garments at the entrance
Sit anywhere and relax, except there
We are not to trouble those, the pretty ones
Never sit at the table where everyone looks on
Certain blessings and such are saved for Thanksgivings
Thanksgivings and reunions
Welcome again friend
